Mentoring

The Programmes

via:mento_international and via:mento are designed for female postdoctoral scientists at Kiel University who wish to pursue a professorship or another permanent scientific employment. The target audience consists of mainly female postdoctoral researchers, assistent professors and junior research group leaders, but also junior professors.

The programmes benefit from the individual and scientific qualities of every mentee. Therefore, via:mento_international and via:mento accumulate female researchers from different scientific backgrounds, who display a wide range of qualifications and experience concerning the German as well as other scientific systems.

Due to a cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN), the Institute for the World Economy (IfW) and GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, researchers of these three research institutes located in Kiel are also eligible for via:mento.

Both programmes are coordinated at the Central Office for Gender Equality, Diversity & Family. The programmes' concepts are based on the quality standards of Forum Mentoring e.V., the German Federal Association for Mentoring in Science. via:mento_international and via:mento are both members in the Forum Mentoring e.V. and the European Network eument-net.

via:mento_international is coordinated by Dr. Marta Chiarinotti.

via:mento is coordinated by Dr. Ruth Kamm.
