Individual Short Coachings "Reflect your own career path"

Aug 19, 2020 to Aug 20, 2020

Kiel University, Leibnizstr. 3, Room 26

Individual Short Coachings (30-45 min) with Beate Scholz, CTC Coaching GmbH

As a postdoctoral researcher in the qualification phase, you often need to reflect on your current position and skills and weigh up different career and funding options. This is especially true during the transition between the various stages of qualification or at the end of the qualification phase when you become eligible for appointment. Discussions with superiors and the private environment are important at this point, but usually have the disadvantage that the direct interests of the conversation partners also come into play.

This coaching offer therefore chooses a fundamentally different approach by focusing on your previous experiences and plans. The aim is to jointly develop strategies for the further development of your scientific career in the light of your individual goals.

Key Elements:

  • elaboration of short and medium-term career steps as well as a long-term career prospection
  • if appliable, dedution of a suitable funding profile
  • CV Feedback

The coaching will be offered in English or German.

Send your application with letter of motivation to Ruth Kamm until June 15, 2020. You will receive a feedback by July 1, 2020.

via:mento - 10 years of mentoring at Kiel University

Dec 03, 2020 from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM

Kiel University or online

In 2010 started via:mento, Kiel University’s first mentoring programme for female researchers pursuing their academic career after PhD. On 3rd December we want to celebrate 10 years of via:mento – a decade with five lively university-wide and three marine science-specific mentoring groups adding up to more than 130 participants. On this occasion we also welcome our new mentees, who start their mentoring endeavours in via:mento and the new branch via:mento_international.

The keynote lecture “Inclusion in Higher Education. Mentoring as gender equality instrument for transformational change“ will be held by Prof. Marieke van den Brink (Radbound_University Nijmegen, NL). It will be complemented by a panel discussion on different perspectives on experiences with mentoring at Kiel University.
